What we do
We help individuals, teams, and organisations achieve positive social change.
We do this by understanding context, developing capacity, and using evidence-based approaches. Together we want to improve global health and wellbeing.
Strategy and Organisational Development
We help you articulate what you want to do.
We add value to your team, your strategy, and your organisation. With decades of experience working in and for NGOs, the private sector, and public bodies, we bring critical thinking, a rapid appreciation of your organisational culture, and the ability to translate engagement and insight into tailored solutions that are unique to your organisation.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
We help you measure your impact.
We enlarge your understanding of the positive impact of your projects and programmes, as well as their unintended consequences. We assist you to ask the right questions, interpret findings, analyse the implications for your organisation, and plan how to embed learning across your teams. We understand what good evaluation looks like.
Organisational Health and Resiliency Check
We help your organisation flourish.
We take you through a structured, in depth organisational health check. We assess your organisational culture and staff wellbeing. We help you create an environment where your organisation can flourish.
Writing for Impact
We teach your team how to get the response they seek.
Writing for Impact is a key part of our work. We deliver training courses on how to write for impact covering structure and principles to make your writing instantly better. Recently we have delivered training to: ACT Alliance EU, International Aids Society, Project Finance Institute & Full Stack Modeller
Our Experience
We bring a strong combined skill set covering monitoring and evaluation, HIV response, health systems and organisational development. Examples of our work are below.
International Aids Society (IAS)
August 2020-December 2020
We worked with IAS to strengthen their M&E tools, methods and practices focusing on the Paediatric and Young People portfolio. We designed an evaluation framework and delivered training in Theory of Change, Change Pathways Process, and Results Frameworks. We ran a series of interactive online workshops to ensure alignment with the organisational strategy and to make sure that each team member could locate themselves and their work in the Theory of Change.
Evaluation of UNAIDS Technical Support Mechanism (TSM) Evaluation
December 2019-March 2020
This evaluation focused on the efficiency and effectiveness of the Technical Support Mechanism and included an in-depth review of organisational practices within the TSM. It was an excellent opportunity to understand key global and regional challenges in meeting Fast Track Targets, as well as positive practice within different HIV thematic areas being experienced in the different regions.
External evaluation for Agence Francaise de Developpement (AfD) funded “Empowerment of users for good-quality HIV Care” Solthis’ project in Sierra Leone
August-December 2018
This project was designed to strengthen primary health care HIV and AIDS service provision while empowering PLWHIV to access these services in and around Freetown, Sierra Leone. We carried out a formative external evaluation to inform a potential next phase project. We gained an in depth understanding of acute levels of stigma and discrimination, as well as poverty-related challenges facing PLWHIV in accessing basic health services.
Internal review of the Independent Commission on AID Impact (ICAI), HEART
May-July 2019
This review sought to understand ‘what’ had been achieved in terms of impact, ‘where’ impact had been achieved and learning related to ‘how’ ICAI achieved this. The review report contributed to internal thinking around how to work more efficiently for greater impact and VFM. We also reviewed the Theory of Change to check its alignment with ICAI's mission.
Operation Smile
May-August 2018
This project involved a strategic review and validation of the organisational approach to monitoring, evaluation and impact evaluation. We reviewed the logframe and Theory of Change and ensured congruity with the organisation's mission.
